Just Do It

Hi Supermodels

These days I have embraced the famous tagline of Nike by Just Doing It. More and more I’ve realized that if you want something done without having to wait or without being told a million reasons as to why it can’t be done, you just have to do it yourself. Sometimes it is diffcult to “Just Do It” when faced with challenges, stumbling blocks, doubt and fear. However, my advice to you is simple, without any dunkin donut glazed-coating…

F@#$ it and Just Do it. No questions asked; No answers questioned.

Do it with passion or not at all.

Do it now, sometimes later becomes never.

Do it because you can, because you want to, because someone said you couldn’t.

Don’t think too much just DO what makes you happy.

If you don’t do it, someone else will.

Do what you love and love what you do.

Get the Look:

Khaki Bomber Jacket: Truworths

Khaki Cap: Foschini

Stripe Top: Spree

Black Jeans: Zara

Nike Cortez: Superbalist/Nike

Grey Choker: Factorie

If you can dream it, you can do it.

Do it for yourself.

Remember you only get one opportunity, one chance and one life so

Just Do It

LBD

You can have any colour, as long as it’s black – Henry Ford

The LBD is commonly associated with the Little Black Dress in fashion terms. The Little Black Dress is an essential ‘must have’ clothing item in every woman’s wardrobe. I tend to over-do it by owning a few LBDs but the simplicity and elegance of it never let’s you down.

The LBD is perfect for any occasion especially when you need one less decision to make. It can be worn up and down and accessorized to meet your individual style. The LBD  has been commended, accepted and re-designed by designer after designer since the 1920s.

Just like the LBD, we need to adopt the same timeless mantra and create our own definition to make use of in our daily lives.

I have a new LBD mantra which is simple and applicable to all.

I hope it will help the next time you have to decide on more than just picking out your next dress.

L-LIVE

Live unapologetically, Love the Life you Live and Live in the moment.

B-BE

Be Yourself, Be Fearless, Be Extraordinary, Be Happy.

D-DARE

Dare to be different, Dare to bring change and Dare to always succeed.

I initially purchased this LBD for work because it’s simple and you don’t have to iron it (yes we all have those mornings where the snooze button is our friend). However, as I tried it on the first time I realised it’s a tad bit too sexy for the work place. (Remember professionalism over preconceptions ^^,)

Nonetheless, I decided to style this little black dress with a double buckle belt as it adds some edge and doesn’t make the dress seem to formal. The belt also accentuates my pear-shaped figure.

Outfit details:

Ribbed Black Dress: Missguided

Double Buckle Belt: Luella/Foschini (In-store)

Black Ankle Boots: Zara

A White Canvas

Heya Supermodels

I hope you had an awesome weekend. Now to start a new week with new ideas, new goals and new challenges.

Sometime back I styled an all white outfit (singing Madonna’s like a virgin, kissed for the very first time) however I did not have the right words or rather inspiration to go with the look hence the delay.

The colour white has many connotations such as purity, peace, safety, innocence or completeness. But as I look at a white canvas, a white wall or merely a white piece of paper, I’d like to interpret the color white as a new beginning, a new frame of mind.

We all go through life having to make decisions whereby  those decisions lead us on a certain path. After a period of time you come to the realization that one, something is missing or two you completely on the wrong track. (Point three would be that everything is smooth sailing which is highly unlikely unless you are a unicorn). Needless to say, as you look at all your ‘once made’ decisions like scribbles on a wall,  art brushes on a canvas or writing on a piece of paper you think what now, where to from here. Well stop, breathe and have a cup of something because it is never too late to start over again on a new white canvas.

Remember you are the artist of your life so with the words of Neil Gaiman…

“Go and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here. Make. Good. Art.”

Embroidery Fashion Trend

Heya Supermodels

There’s a new Fashion Trend ALERT!!

From the runway to the streets, the embroidery trend has brought new meaning and colour to our jeans, tops, skirts, dresses, jackets and even shoes. Recently, I walked into a clothing store and literally every second garment had a distinctive flower embroidery on it.

The embroidery designs range from simple to more dramatic but regardless, I feel like this trend has decorated fashion with a new form of art.

I am simply loving this trend as life is too short for your clothes to be boring.

So to get excited for the latest fashion trend this season, here’s a look of what to expect in stores and on the streets of style.

A Day at the Races

2017 started off with a bang with one of the biggest events marked in blue and white on the social calendar namely, The L’Omarins Queen’s Plate. Attending this event means one thing and one thing only: Dress to Impress in your finest blue and white.  And then of course the actual horse races lol.

From drinking bubbly to socialising with celebs, bloggers, models, social media influencer’s, certainly  makes this event one to remember.

Here’s a look at the amazing day.

The Goddess (Part 3/3)

Summer is my favourite time of the year because regardless if I made it in time to the gym to get my bikini body ready,  it’s officially time to take out my short shorts and welcome the warm summer rays on my well proportioned short legs. Lol

With festivals, beach parties, picnics and outdoor walks already here, it’s always a question of what does one wear and still embrace your individuality, be it the free spirited gypsy, the good girl or the goddess.

The answer my fellow supermodels, is the timeless denim high- waisted shorts. You can mix and match it with different tops and accessories that no one would have even noticed you wore the same shorts to different events….

Here’s how I embraced my 3 alter egos with 1 pair of shorts in part 3 of the 3 part series.

The Goddess

Being brave enough to just be unapologetic for who you are, that’s a goddess. Banks
