Things to do in Bali

Bali is truly colourful, filled with a rich culture,  art, historical temples, breathtaking waterfalls ‘WOW’ views. Before I visited Bali, I turned to my trusted friend, Pinterest for inspiration and itineraries and there is honestly so many amazing blogs, articles and travel diaries of things to do, see, experience and enjoy in Bali. I told myself, I cannot bare to see these mesmerizing photos any longer. I want to see, do, experience and capture it all for myself. Needless to say, I was not disappointed and now I can tick it off The List.

So here’s my photo diary of things to do, see, experience in Bali.

Pura Ulun Danu Bratan

Tanah Lot Temple

Kecak Dance

LUWAK Coffee Tasting

Monkey Forest

Monkey see, monkey do… so whatever you do leave all your belongings with your driver or in a tightly closed backpack. Have a strap for your camera or phone and don’t even bother to carry a bottle of water they will legit take it from you and give you a “vuil kyk” should you dare to take it back from them lmao.  I didn’t have anything on me to offer however one monkey pulled my jumpsuit, thinking I was hiding something, it was hilarious and a tad bit scary because they can be crazy mother f@#$ sorry mean monkeys.

Batik

It’s a method of producing coloured designs on textiles by dyeing them, having first applied wax to the parts to be left ‘undyed’. Support this historical art and textile work by purchasing a finished batik product such as a sarong, pillow case or purse.

Shop

Put your negotiating skills to the test and don’t give in too easily. In terms of negotiating, Ubud is the best place to shop for bags, accessories, leather goods, well actually everything. As soon as you get to Kuta and Seminyak the vendors become more rigid in meeting you even halfway with your bargained price.

(Apparently a penis souvenir means goodluck and yes they come in all sizes…smirk)

 Tegalalang Rice Terraces

All I can say is, go early, wear comfortable shoes and take a zillion pics, this rice terrace is the picture perfect.

Bali Swing

The higher, the better.

EAT: Klapon

(Rice leaf with sugary filling and coconut)

Adopt and Release a Turtle

White water rafting, Deep sea-diving, Parasailing

I don’t have images of all the water sports I did because sometimes you just have to leave the camera and live in the moment.

 Spa

I went to a spa in each place I visited in Bali that being, Kuta, Ubud, Nusa Dua and Seminyak, sigh I felt like a queen being massaged with coconut milk and soaking in hot rose petal baths… anyway back to reality.

Stay

Dash Hotel Seminyak I give this place 5 stars for the unique quirky design, location (It is walking distance to the potato head beach club) and the delicious breakfast.

Benoa Sea Suites- Nusa Dua- 4 stars. This accommodation is near all the water sports, beach and restaurants. The suites are spacious, clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

Alamdini Resort Ubud- 4 stars. This resort seems secluded but it is still within walking distance to the restaurants and the shopping markets. The room and the bathroom is spacious and clean with an amazing view of big koi fish and the big green jungle tress. The breakfast was a bit disappointing but there is a good variety of restaurants in the heart of Ubud.

There are way more things that I did, saw, experienced, and ate. I couldn’t capture every single moment and I definitely cannot post over 1000 pics. However I triple dare you to close your eyes and book your next trip to Bali (Do it now Ray, you will not regret it hehe).

Lastly don’t forget to see the sunset at Potato Head Beach Club, dance like there’s no tomorrow at Sky Garden and see you life flash by with the killer waves at Dreamland Beach.

Derimakasi Bali, Till next time
